Does Acupuncture Hurt?
Acupuncture is generally not painful. Most people experience only a mild sensation when the thin needles are inserted, often it as a slight prick or tingling. The needles used are very fine, and many patients report feeling relaxed and calm during their session. If you're uneasy about needles but still want to benefit from acupuncture, we offer several gentle, needle-free alternatives. No matter what approach you choose, our practitioners will support you with calm guidance and compassionate care every step of the way.
Are the needles sterile/ disposable?
Acupuncture needles are designed to be sterile to ensure safety and prevent infection. They are typically made from stainless steel and are manufactured in a sterile environment. Each needle individually packaged and sealed to maintain its sterility until it is used. After use, these needles are disposed of safely, minimizing any risk of contamination.
Is Acupuncture safe for children?
Acupuncture can be beneficial for children as it promotes relaxation and helps alleviate various ailments, such as allergies, asthma, and digestive issues. It is tailored to the child's needs and uses gentle techniques, making it a safe option for young patients. Additionally, acupuncture may enhance overall well-being by supporting the immune system and improving sleep quality. Younger children typically do not get acupuncture but are treated with acupressure and Tuina.
Do you take insurance?
Eastern Blooms Acupuncture is not in-network with any health insurance companies and we do not bill insurance (health insurance, auto, or workers' comp) for services provided. However, we do accept HSA and Flex Spending Account cards for payment.

Payment is due at the time of service. Forms of payment accepted include: cash, debit and credit card (Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and American Express), and HSA/FSA cards.
How many treatments do I need?
The number of treatments needed and the frequency of treatments depends on each individual situation. Generally speaking, acute conditions respond more quickly than chronic conditions but this can vary with each person’s condition.

Depending on the severity of your issue, you may require two treatments per week for a few weeks or just one treatment per week. Some patients respond well after just one treatment, while others may take longer to see the benefits. Your length and type of treatment will be discussed during your first session.
What should I do before my appointment?
We recommend wearing comfortable clothing that allows you to relax during your treatment. Please plan to spend about 1.5 hours with us for your first visit, and approximately one hour for any follow-up appointments. We also suggest having a light meal beforehand—try not to arrive on an empty stomach.
